When I heard that Karachi Chefs at Home (Abu Dhabi branch) was organizing a live barbeque in collaboration with Masala Restaurant at Yas Park, I was elated. Delicious food and a chance to meet new people; how could I possibly miss this opportunity?! I am always a sucker for barbeques.
Karachi Chefs at Home is a popular Facebook foodie group where women from different cultural, ethnicities, nationalities come together to share their recipes, help each other with kitchen queries and share kitchen hacks. The group has now become a strong community of women who all share one thing in common and that is a love for cooking.
After savory food, it was time for some mouthwatering Nutella and Ferrero Rocher cake and cupcakes prepared by Madiha Rafiq You can check her work on Instagram: madi_bakes_ and Facebook: Cakealiciousme In the spirit of Pakistan Day, a little ceremony of cake cutting with people chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” was performed. The cake and cupcakes looked luscious with an edible Pakistani flag spread atop it and tasted heavenly.
At the end of the meet up, there were some gifts for grabs, a series of questions related to Pakistan were asked. There were also some games where participants were given spices that they had to guess and name. Fabulous prizes were given to all the participants.
