It was time for us to return back to UAE so we decided to explore few places which we can easily check out on our way back.
Our first stop was Al-Zulfa Mosque also known as “Royal Guards of Oman Mosque.” The mosque is famous for its unique geometrical shapes and colorful glass art. Another min – blowing characteristics of this mosque its Islamic designs on its ceiling. There is Arabic calligraphy painted on its doors and windows. The mosque is not open for non – Muslims.
After Al- Zulfa mosque. We went to Nakhal Fort. The amazing thing which I found about this fort is that it does not follow any uniform shape. The shape of the fort follows the irregular form of the huge rock on which the fort is built. In the lower level of the fort, there is a mosque, a well, and a date storage room. In the upper part of the fort, there are residential quarters which exhibits the traditional lifestyle of the people of old times. Every room has elegant ceiling featuring Arabic designs.
Our last stop before UAE was Nizwa Fort. It has astonishing old Omani architecture. The shape of the Nizwa fort is in a cylindrical shape, it has seven wells, a number of prisons and a prosecution area. Inside of the fort displays the lifestyle of old Omani people and also contains many artifacts which are displayed in many rooms.
With this, my trip to Oman came to end. There are many places which I like to visit in Oman, hopefully, I will do on my next visit.
